Our sweet boy has been smiling a lot more lately. It's so hard to catch them on camera - my camera takes forever to snap a picture. But here are a few that I've caught.

Smiling at dad

Our chunky monkey!

On our way to swaddle-free!

We are weaning Jackson from his swaddle. We are starting with daytime naps, and eventually will put him to bed at night without swaddling him. Here are a few pictures of his swaddle-free naps. :)

The first nap I put him in the swaddle, but kept his arms out. He did great!

Passed out on our bed.

Snoozin' in the pack 'n play.

Don't let him fool you - that's not a smile. That's what he looks like before the wailing begins. :)

My 2 favorite boys!

Friday night, Scott and I babysat the twins while Angie & Rodney went out to eat for their 7th anniversary. We had a lot of fun watching them! Here are a couple of cute pictures from our evening with them.

Add 1 more in the mix, and this is what you get. Hehe.

Jackson is 2 months old!!

Our baby boy is growing up so fast. He is 2 months old today! Please turn up your volume, and enjoy the slide show of his pictures over the last 2 months:

2 Month Appointment

Jackson went to Dr. Pam yesterday for his 2 month appointment. He measured 23 inches, and weighed 12 lbs, 15 oz. He is in the 50th percentile for height, and 75th percentile for weight.

He has a very odd looking belly button, and we asked her what the deal was. It turns out that he has a hernia. There is a gap in his stomach muscles, which creates a hole about the width of one finger. This is just big enough to have part of his intestines push through his stomach, and push out his belly button. :( Dr. Pam said that with time, this will correct itself. As his stomach muscles get stronger, the hole will gradually close. She said that by the time he went off to kindergarten, it should no longer be there. THAT IS A LONG TIME, PEOPLE!!! 5 years to have this gi-normous poking out belly button!! Poor baby! At least it doesn't hurt him, and it will most likely correct itself without needing surgery.

Overall, it was a great visit. However, it did end with a couple vaccinations. He wailed about 2 seconds after the poke, once he realized what happened. It was the most pitiful thing ever. I immediately picked him up and comforted him. Within about a minute he had calmed down. :)

Back to work

Well, I am back to work now after 8 incredible weeks off with my baby. I miss him more than words, and wish so badly that I could be home with him. However, he is in GREAT hands everyday with his Nanna, (my mom), who is watching him. Scott and I are going to work on a plan for me being able to stay home with him at least part-time. It may take a little while to get there...but we're going to work very hard at it.

Jackson will be 2 months old on Friday! I cannot believe how fast time has gone. On Friday, I will post a slideshow of his pictures over the last 2 months. :) For now, here is a picture from our Starbucks date with Preston, Parker, and Aunt G last week.

Was it the storming?!

Last night/evening was rough for poor Jackson. Actually, yesterday was pretty rough all day. However, the silver lining was HUGE! Jackson slept from 11:30 pm until 5 am this morning. And the only reason he woke up, was because I woke him up - worried that something was wrong! Scott's alarm went off this morning, and I woke up and immediately thought "I DIDN'T FEED JACKSON LAST NIGHT!" I clicked on the video monitor, and he was still there! :) Whew! However, he had moved down about a foot in his crib, and I have no clue how that happened. He was still swaddled up all tight, so he must have scooted/inched his way down through the night. Part of me wonders if he woke up crying, I didn't hear him, and he went back to sleep. But when I got him up, his diaper was still dry - which would have been unlikely if he had woken up in the middle of the night. I am thrilled that he slept so well, but am thinking this was just a coincidence. Maybe because he slept so horribly all day yesterday, or maybe because the storms kept him sleeping? Whatever it was...I got 5 hours of sleep last night!!!!!! GOD IS GOOD!! :)

7 weeks!

Our sweet boy is 7 weeks old now! I didn't get many pictures the past week - he was quite the fussy baby in the beginning of the week due to his 6th week growth spurt. And after the fussiness wore off, he couldn't sleep enough. This makes for less-than-exciting picture opportunities. However, I did snap one quick shot of him waking up and stretching. I will never get tired of waking him up from naps and seeing his precious stretching!

Jackson is still working on his smiles and coos. He does it every once in awhile, but not consistently quite yet.

But big news this week - HE ROLLED OVER!! We had a little tummy time at the beginning of the week, and during his tummy time he rolled from front to back. The first time he did it, he had the biggest eyes ever as if he was trying to say "WOW! I can't believe I just did that!"

30 Day Shred

My sweet friend, Erin Nickell, told me about this workout program that she started - the 30 Day Shred. The Biggest Loser trainer, Jillian Michaels, is the trainer in the video. After I found out about it, and after weeks of feeling disgusting with this extra pregnancy weight, I decided to give it a try.

I am on day 3 of the 30 days...and OUCH! Boy, does it work! I haven't felt this sore since 2-a-days in high school. It feels great to be this sore again, but it also hurts pretty bad. I'm hoping that in 27 more days, I will feel better, and fit into my favorite pre-pregnancy clothes again. :) I know this is probably a little too soon, but I already feel like it's working. Other than the soreness, I feel like my body is getting tighter again. :) I will let you know how it goes in a few more weeks.

Thanks, Erin, for the idea and recommendation!
