Love my little man!

Showered with sympathy presents while sick.

Silly faces!

The look on Jackson's face in this one just really makes me crack up.

This is what hand, foot, mouth virus looks like on the bottom of J's feet.  A few more little sores popped up since this photo.  He has them on his fingers/hands, and in the back of his throat, too.  Poor buddy!  He is on the up-side of this nasty little thing, and we'll be happy to be back at the sitter on Monday, and back to our routines again.

4 years and counting!

On August 2nd, Scott and I celebrated our 4th anniversary.  4 amazing years full of twists and turns, surprises, a few bumpy roads, and a lot of fun and laughter.  I couldn't imagine sharing this life with any other than my best friend.  He is the most incredible husband and father, and we are SO blessed to have him care for us the way he does.

This year, we opted for a staycation rather than traveling somewhere to celebrate.  We stayed home for a long weekend, and ventured out each day for some fun.

We played Top Golf for the first time.

We cruised Lake Grapevine.

We watched the sun set over the water.

After a few hiccups with the boat & the vehicle we used to pull the boat, we saw maybe 1 or 2 of the fireworks we had hoped to watch.  :)

We also enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner at Bob's Steak and Chop House.

While we were away, Jackson was holding down the fort at Nanna & PaPa's house.  My dad sent me this picture of Jackson working hard at the desk.  :)

"Understanding will never bring you Peace.  That's why I have instructed you to trust in Me, not in your understanding.  Human beings have a voracious appetite for trying to figure things out, in order to gain a sense of mastery over their lives.  But the world presents you with an endless series of problems. As soon as you master one set, another pops up to challenge you.  The relief you had anticipated is short-lived.  Soon your mind is gearing up again: searching for understanding (mastery), instead of seeking Me (your Master)."  - Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young

Today's daily devotional was great as always.

My prayer is that I will always seek you, Lord, and not the wisdom of the world.
